Kashmere High School held their Homecoming Parade on October 10, 2009 and the HFT was proudly represented by their own float.  Ms. Angelov, Art teacher at Kashmere, and her students decorated the float and members were invited to ride on the float during the parade. The HFT/AFT has partnered with Kashmere High School to provide support, professional development and to build community involvement throughout the entire Kashmere area.  H.E. Jones, HFT Executive Board Member got right in there to help students and employees build the royal court float, “Anything to help our kids and to get involved in the community.  This is an opportunity for practical application of skills we learn in class.”

Starla Reichek, HFT Kashmere Building Leader said, “It is great to see everyone come together in the spirit of learning and sharing.  Our students deserve the opportunities to shine.  I am very happy that we were able to help in some way.  We had a great time with our kids.”  All of the Kashmere feeder pattern schools participated in the parade and homecoming celebration, making this a community event.  Hundreds and perhaps thousands of community members turned out to participate.  Our students were able to show off their creative skills whether through art work, music or dance.  We look forward to next year.
