Sugar Land, TX August 25, 2009

After winning a guaranteed pay raise for teachers during the legislative session,  the Fort Bend Employee Federation successfully lobbied the Fort Bend ISD Board of Trustees to approve an approximate 2% raise for non-teaching staff and voted to reject an increase in monthly insurance premiums for all employees.  Here is the story.

Read the following story from Diane Tezeno of The Fort Bend Sun detailing the Board of Trustees debate about adopting the 2009-2010 FBISD Budget on Tuesday, August 25, 2009.

After presentations by representatives of the Fort Bend Employee Federation and heated debate among Fort Bend ISD Board of Trustees members,  the board went on to adopt a budget for the 2009-2010 school year that included raises for teachers, paraprofessionals and classified employees.
